This Readymade is essentially a three-dimensional version of the "Modified Print Readymade" Du dos de la cuiller au cul de la douairiere ("From the back of the spoon to the dowager's ass") (Schwarz 810).

The door is to Duchamp's apartment at 327 East 58th Street, New York, where he lived in the late 1950s.
